WEB GEMS- Top 2nd: Phil Rizzuto robbed Joe Morgan of a base hit.
Joe Dimaggio rocketed 2 homeruns and had 7 RBI and Warren Spahn tossed a
complete game as the Mumbai Slumdogz destroyed the E Street Outlaw Petes by a
score of 21 to 2 at the ballpark.
Dimaggio was unconscious out there. While E Street pitching was serving
softballs up there for him to hit, the E Street fans were serving up some
hardball barbs when he entered the batter's box. But he just used it as fuel
for the fire. He lost the ball over the fence for three runs in the 1st
inning and belted a three-run homer (his 33rd of the season) in the 1st
inning. Mumbai kept the scorekeepers busy in the 1st inning with 11 runs on
7 hits and the 5th inning which saw them plate 4 runs on 4 hits. Mumbai
finished with 18 hits in the victory.
The winning pitcher was Spahn(12-8) who allowed 2 runs for the game. Sandy
Koufax(16-6) was given the loss. He surrendered 4 runs and 3 hits in 1/3 of
an inning.
With this win, Mumbai has a 58-49 record. They have been 6-4 lately. With
this loss, E Street has a 5-5 record of late, 69-46 overall.
