Hugh Duffy cracked 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the E Street Outlaw Petes
smashed the overmatched Vermont Saps, 16 to 6.
Duffy was a one-man wrecking crew. He banged out a single resulting in a run
in the 1st inning, delivered a solo blast in the 3rd inning, smashed a
solo-shot out of the park (his 2nd of the season) in the 5th inning and
delivered a base-hit plating a run in the 9th inning. E Street bats were
very productive in the 1st inning when they had 3 runs on 4 hits, the 5th
inning which saw them plate 3 runs on 4 hits and the 9th inning with 3 runs
on 5 hits. The E Street offense man-handled the Vermont pitching staff as
they scored in 7 of the 9 innings.
The win went to Roy Halladay(6-3) who allowed 6 runs in 6 and 1/3 innings.
Mickey Welch(1-2) was hit with the loss. He allowed 4 homeruns in 4 and 2/3
innings of work.
