Right fielder Hank Aaron had 4 hits and 4 RBI as the New Zealand Kiwis
destroyed the Wyoming Triops by a score of 17 to 4 at the ballpark.
The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by Aaron. He laced a single which plated a run in the 1st inning,
delivered a base-hit in the 4th inning, lined a one-base hit bringing in a
run in the 7th inning and delivered a solo blast (his 10th of the season) in
the 8th inning. New Zealand lit up the scoreboard in the 1st inning with 5
runs on 7 hits, the 6th inning when they had 5 runs on 4 hits and the 7th
inning which saw them plate 5 runs on 4 hits. Overall New Zealand out-hit
Wyoming 22 to 6.
Gaylord Perry(3-5) allowed 4 runs in 8 and 2/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Vic Willis(4-6) was hit with the loss. He allowed 5 runs and 5 hits
without retiring a batter.
